Registration Fees
Members pay just $948 and non-members $1,092 for three full days of educational programs, three lunches, opening reception on Monday, tour of Fraunhofer IKTS and evening event on Tuesday.
Medical sessions will be held on Monday, 24 April. Workshops, poster session, tour of Fraunhofer IKTS and evening event are on Tuesday, 25 April. Wednesday, 25 April is a full day of industrial sessions.
See below for a description of the pre-symposium hiking tour to Saxon, Switzerland and the post-symposium tour to CeramTec factory on Thursday, 26 April. If you wish to participate in the post symposium tour, you will need to extend your hotel reservation through Thursday evening and arrange your transportation to leave Dresden on Friday or later.
Tuesday tour of Fraunhofer IKTS
We have a 90 minute tour of the Fraunhofer IKTS scheduled on Tuesday afternoon. Participants will travel via public transportation, departing at 1:00 pm for the tour that will start at 2:00 pm.
The tour will include the following areas:
- Station 1: Thick-film technology and exhibits: piezoelectric materials and components, integration technologies, ultrasonic probes, ultrasonic applications including exhibits
- Station 2: Characterization of piezoelectric materials and components
- Station 3: Characterization of magnetic shape memory materials + acoustic measurement technology
- Station 4: IKTS showroom as an introduction to the IKTS research areas (planned)

Pre-Symposium Hiking Tour - Saxon Switzerland
Plan to arrive in Dresden to join Klaus-Vitold Jenderka for a hiking tour to Saxon Switzerland on Sunday, 23 April.
The group will meet at the Dresden Main Station, Ticket Counter at 8:45 am.
You will depart on the suburban railway Line S1 at 8:59 am for a 45 minute trip to Bad Schandau/Krippen.
Next is a 15 minute walk to the ferry port, where you will take the ferry from Krippen over the river Elbe (a 5 minute ride).
The hiking will begin by hiking to the Schrammstein look-out, elevation 417m (optional via the Schrammsteinbaude” for lunch) and the Falkenstein to the Kirnitzsctal. Duration is approximately 4 hours.
A certain level of fitness is required. Hikers should also be free of giddiness, since you will have to climb steep stairs and ladders along the path.
Depending on weather conditions and/or endurance of the group, the tour can be extended to the Kirnitzschtal vial the Carolafelsen and Wilde Hölle.
You will then ride the Kirnitzschtal tramway (also known as the Kirnitzschtalbahn or Kirnitzsch Valley Tramway to Bad Schandau, the gate to the Saxon Switzerland National Park. You will walk through the city to the ferry port (15 minutes). This will also provide you with the opportunity to buy some souvenirs and/or dinner.
To return to the railway station you can take the ferry or bus. You will ride back to the Dresden Main Station on the suburban railway, arriving at approximately 6 pm.
You will be responsible for the cost of the transportation (approximately 15€) and any food you purchase.

Post-Symposium Tour of CeramTec
CeramTec would like to extend the offer for a maximum of 40 attendees to travel to CeramTec's piezo ceramic facility in Lauf a.d. Pegnitz, Germany. This space is limited to a maximum of 40 people based on logistics and personnel availability for the tour. CeramTec will provide all of the necessary transportation and lunch during the trip / visit. The attendees will only need to be responsible for one more night in the hotel in Dresden. Participation on this tour will be at CeramTec's discretion.

12:30 PM -First group of 10 visitors starts tour; Each tour will last approximately 1 hour and we will run 4 tours at 20 minute intervals.
3:00 PM -Conclude tours; 20 - 30 minute Q&A Session following
3:30 PM -Depart Lauf on Bus for Dresden
